 Glasflugel 304CZ

The 304CZ is truly a deluxe "Pilots Sailplane" that must be seen and flown to be fully appreciated.
The 304CZ comes fully upholstered and includes items normally offered only as extra cost options by other manufacturers. Parallelogram control stick, automatic control hook-ups including ailerons, flaps, dive brakes, elevator and even water ballast system, carbon aramid safety seat, advanced canopy jettison system, instrument panel attached to the canopy frame for easy entry and egress, 5" TOST wheel and brake,  pneumatic tailwheel, "in flight adjustable seatback and rudder pedal assembly" adjustable headrest, your choice of nose or CG tow release or the option for both are some standard features of the Glasflügel  304CZ.

Glasflugel innovations:
The Glasflügel  304 was the first sailplane design to offer the instrument panel attached to the canopy frame to allow easy access and if necessary easier emergency evacuation. Additional "Glasflügel " innovations and HpH additions included on the 304CZ include:
Parallelogram control column to minimize PIO’s and improve overall control feel and function.
"Glasflügel " designed trailing edge Dive Brakes with flaps
Full Automatic connection of all flight controls on assembly
and assembly connections now duplicated by nearly all top manufacturers.
Finger tip trim adjustment for elevator.
Cockpit adjustments possible "In Flight" of rudder pedals, seatback and headrest
Full factory seals are STANDARD including mylar seals on all controls,
Internals "S" seals, Wing and tail root "boot" seals, which is
something that all other manufacturers charge hundreds of dollars for!
Custom cut instrument panel, and buyers requirements for wire cables are also added
by HpH during the assembly at NO EXTRA CHARGE!
"Roger" Safety Canopy jettison mechanism as an option
Water Ballast (option) with all dump/fill connections automatically connected on assembly
(no plumbing or dump mechanisms to connect manually)
Also added to the original Glasflügel  304 are the new and easily removable optional Winglets for enhanced performance and even better low speed handling and better climb.
(Original Glasflügel  304 owners may doubt the need for improvement to this magnificent design!)
Made in the Czech republic by HpH Ltd. using all original Glasflügel  Molds and
production tooling, the 304CZ is an exceptional value.

304CZ Wins at Sugarbush Region 1 Contest !
Congratulations to Arnd Wussing

In only his second ever attempt at competitive soaring, Arnd Wussing flying a 304/17 won outright the Region One Sports class contest at Warren Vermont held June 19th-June 24th 2000! The 304CZ sporting the 17.43 meter wing tip extensions carried a high .88 handicap but even so was up to the task bettering the performances of pilots and some of the latest sailplanes from major German manufacturers proving once again that in competent hands the 304CZ is still very much a competitor.

RICHARD JOHNSON'S TEST FLIGHTS OF THE 304CZ AND PILOTS REVIEWS ARE

"JOHNSON FLIGHT TESTS" REVIEW.
HIS FINDINGS ALSO PUBLISHED IN
"SOARING" MAGAZINE.

304CZ Ser# 15 with 17.43 wingtip extensions at the
SSA Convention in Albuquerque NM March 2000

The 304CZ is now shipping with optional 17.5 wing tip extensions!
The first production 304CZ to leave the factory with add-on wing extensions is now in the USA.
Additionally these extended wing panels have been installed on 304CZ ser# 3.
Though no polar tests have been made in the USA, the factory flight test have show L/D
max with these tips to be nearly. 47/1!
Several pilots have however now flown "1M" and reviews have all been very enthusiastic.
First impressions are that  with the extended length wings the roll rate is still quick and
responsive (extended tips also include extensions to the ailerons). The 304 has always
been a tremendous climber but with the wing tip extensions this ability has been further
enhanced and the ease of co-ordination remains excellent allowing nearly "hands-off"
climbs but yet a sensitivity to the air currents within thermals.
The outstanding " Glasflügel " feel and co-ordination remains a part of the 304/17 making
transition to longer wings a non-issue with fully effective aileron control even at the
beginning of a take-off run or even landing in cross winds easy to handle.

The 304CZ with 17.5 meter wing extensions has no new weight restrictions and only slight
reduction in redline and maneuvering speeds making it ideal in nearly any flight conditions.

from aerokurier magazine:
Pilot Report 304CZ: The "Glasflügel  304" is back in production. Seventeen years ago, the Glasflügel 304 took off for its first flight. Now, the racing class aircraft can be ordered again: from HPH in Kutna Hora/Czechia.Seventeen years is a long period of time in glider development. However, the Glasflügel 304, when succeeding the Mosquito on the market in 1980, already was a far advanced development in many points.  This advantage is still a strong point of the aircraft, the 304 not having lost much of its topicality. She is still a racing class glider that doesn’t leave many wishes open.It is not totally out of place that the aircraft is now in production again at HPH in Kutna Hora, located approximately 80 kilometers southeast of Prague. Our test shows: The 304 CZ from HPH is the familiar, still young Glasflügel  304.
