arrival....Early in 2002 a Jantar II (open Jantar, 20.5 meter) was purchased in a
partnership between Airport owner, Bill Holder and Tim Mara

After getting the new airworthiness certificate, replacing the instruments, adding
a new radio and some initial clean up it was delivered to the airport and with the help of
several friends finally assembled. While waiting for the new trailer to arrive it was left
assembled and stored in the hanger.....a big hanger :-)
the first impression was, "it aint gonna fit in there" but of course it did
and finally it's time to see how it flys.........In we go
Head first......no, this is NOT the Brokenstraw Bald Eagle!

Big aint it?
At nearly a 70 foot wingspan the Jantar is a big glider, but also even today a
pretty good performer at a near 50/1 glide ratio but still a pretty straight forward
design that is quite docile and easy to fly
