The weather after several weeks of
fabulous soaring conditions Saturday was horible with low IFR over the whole
region and menacing rain and T storms announced. finally the sky cleared a
little to 2500" AGL, and we where off the only tow that day at TSA, very unusual
at this time of the year. flew 2 flights of 35mins on saturday and 2hrs on
Sunday, it just gets better at each flight. More news to come later.
It is everything you can expect, Easy to fly, hardly notice you are flying a
18m, except for the speed and the glide, very comfortable "that cockpit". Light
commands, accelerates fast, turn ratio like the 15m.

304S prototype
(the ONLY NON-German Glider)
in the German 18 Meter National Championship finished
an impressive 9th overall out of 37!
This was even
after an unfortunate land-out on one day dropping guest pilot
Jan-Hinnerk Scheel to 24th on this
one day.
Without question, the 304S is proving itself to be a formidable competitor!

Innovation and attention to detail!

Note the skeletal structure built in to the advanced
safety cockpit!

Gone now are the "kinks" or bends in the leading
edge shown in artist renditions and computer images of the proposed 304S design
to finally reveal what had been part of the kept secret until now. The new 304S
wing has a elliptical design with not only a graceful sweep to the leading edge
but the upward bend added completely without the former breaks of other designs
in a continuously contoured wing ending perfectly with the totally new "shark
fin" wing tips. Unlike those now used for the new 304S even the most advanced
computer designed molds of the past had been made from several sections and had
to be hand filled to complete a single wing mold of these proportions.

Not simply a facelift of an existing technology, but the very latest in a long study of
what was, until now, the State-of-the-Art. The HpH Glasflügel 304-S and
Glasflügel 304-SE are designed to take advantage of both, the 15 meter racing class and
the rising popularity of the 18 meter classes with a totally new carbon fiber
18/15 meter
304S and the 15 meter only 304SE. In keeping with the Glasflügel heritage, innovations in
the new fuselage introduces a new safety cockpit far beyond the standardsof
all other manufacturers, with superior ergonomics and roomy comfortable cockpit for even
larger pilots.
Capability for Self-Launch or (Turbo) sustainer to be added (built in capability in all
production 15/18 S models) and of course the renown HpH quality and
craftsmanship admired by all and second to none!
