backpack parachute system designed for use in today's restricted cockpit enviroments. The
Mini Softie is for use by persons weighing up to 240 lbs. It is available with your choice

lumbar and sacral support during high, positive G maneuvers. It is ideal

Conventional Harness
(normally recommended)
By using a unique high strength
webbing loop at the hip rather than the normal connecting hardware we are able to
eliminate the possibility of the connecting hardware being forced into the pelvic bone
(very painfull) by the lap belt during high negative G aerobatics. The aerobatic harness
is connected by having the legstrap pass through the loop and then cross over and connect
on the opposite side of the harness
Quick Ejectors
allow for fast, easy, one hand disconnection of the harness attach points. Quick ejectors
offer a nice convenience, however, it is important to know they are bulkiest and
heaviest of
all the connector hardware we offer.

The Model 305 parachute assembly completes the Strong
Enterprises line of emergency parachutes. The Model 305 is truly a chair-parachute,
covering the back of the body from shoulders to just above the knees. The patented
chair-type container conforms to the curve of your back. It is especially popular among
sailplane pilots flying for hours in the supine position, it is literally a
"parachute-cushion" beneath the pilot. It is 42" (105 cm) long by 16"
(40 cm) wide and varies from 2.5" to less than 1" (6.5 to 2.5 cm) thick,
designed specifically for use where space is minimal.

Para-Cushion 311 Wedge Backpack
This special back mounted container
measures 24" tall by 16" wide by 1" thick at the shoulders and 3"
thick at the lower back. This unique configuration allows for maximum comfort of the pilot
by using the shape of the parachute system to put you in a slightly reclined, comfortable
position. The model 311 is recommended for use in airplanes where head room is at a
minimum and the back rest is at a straight upright angle with the seat bottom, such as a
Pitts S1, Pitts Model 12, Christen Eagle, RV-4, RV-6, Harmon Rocket, and many others.

The Model 303 parachute assembly is our most popular
model and is used by warbird, sailplane and aerobatic pilots. The back-mounted container
conforms to the curve of your shoulders, and is only 24" (60 cm) tall by 16" (40
cm) wide and less than 3" (7 cm) thick. The Model 303 weighs approximately 15
lbs (6 .5 kg.). It is recommended when head space is at a minimum, such as Christen Eagle

The Squadron Seat Pack was designed specifically for the
bucket style set pan used in Warbirds, such as the SN-J, T-6, Harvard, T-34, T-28, P-51
and many others. The pack and cushion combination are shaped to fit fully int the seat to
provide a large, stable,comfortable base for the pilot to sit. The harness is fully
adjustable in the main lift webs (vertical straps) as well as in the pilots lumbar area to
ensure proper fit and support. The back and seat cushions utilize
Confor Foam® padding for additional comfort and support.

Para-Cushion 304 Seatpack
The Model 304 parachute assembly is designed specifically for emergency use
by sport aviators flying aircraft utilizing a seat pan. The parachute container is a seat
cushion 12"x 16" (30 cm x 40 cm) and less than 3" (7 cm) thick. Because the
back pad is only a half inch (1 cm) thick, the system is also especially suited to
aircraft with restricted stick or rudder travel, or when head room is not restricted, such
as Stearman, Great Lakes and Citabria. The complete system weighs approximately 15 lbs.

"Time / Life" or service life
The formal determination of "Time / Life" or service life of a non-military
personnel parachute is still open ended and non specific. Someone must take the initiative and make a judgment call to
ground it. By comparison: "Personnel (military) parachutes have a determined
service life (a maximum shelf life) without use of 16.5 years, and every
personnel parachute is stamped with a manufacturing date that starts its
life-cycle clock.
A personnel parachute is also stamped with the date that it is first placed
in service (PIS). From that point on, a parachute’s service life cannot
exceed 12 years. The longer the unit sits on the shelf the less service life
it has once placed in service."
The Parachute Industry Association (PIA)
has visited this issue without conclusion to
date. Until the PIA specifies
or recommends otherwise, it is the opinion of the current management at
National Parachute that the maximum
service life is 20 years from date of manufacture.
