Battery connections
Parallel and Series connections

Connecting batteries in "Series"
doubles or adds the voltages of the individual batteries while maintaining
the same amp hour capacity providing all batteries connected are the same
individual amp hour capacity
When connecting your batteries in Series you are doubling the voltage while
maintaining the same capacity rating (amp hours). By connecting the negative of
the first battery and the positive of the second battery. Run your negative wire
off of the open connector from the first battery and your positive off of the
open connector on your second battery.

Connecting
batteries in "Parallel"
maintains the same individual batteries voltage while doubling or adding the
individual batteries amp hour capacities
When connecting in Parallel you are doubling the capacity (amp hours) of
the battery while maintaining the same voltage of one of the individual
batteries. Connecting a lead between the positives of both batteries and another
lead between the negatives of both batteries. Connect your positive and negative
wires to the same battery to run to your application.
Important
When connecting batteries in a pack there are some important things to keep in
mind. Don't use different battery types (chemistries) like Lead Acid, NiCad
(Nickel Cadmium), NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) or any other
when connecting a battery pack. The voltages may be different, and charge rates
will also resulting in a shortened life span or possibly dangerous overcharging.
Also try to match (amp hour) capacities as much as possible to avoid discharging
the lower capacity battery quicker than the others as that will discharge deeper
than the rest and may not be able to recover.
Simple Do-it-yourself
Landing Gear Warning
(diagram....be sure to test all connections and
functions yourself to be sure!)
Wings & Wheels offers a simple do-it-yourself
kit including all of the needed parts and diagram to build a simple
9V Battery operated warning system to activate when spoilers or landing brakes
are opened and landing gear is
still in the up position. You can also buy most common switches, buzzers and
parts needed locally
using the diagram here to build your own system.

NAVITER UPDATES
UPDATE FOR
OUDIE
Original Oudies (first release) may have a software glitch that causes the
device to lock up.
Follow these simple procedures below to update
1. Download this file to your PC (or directly to
Oudie, then skip to #5):http://upload.naviter.si/oudie/portrait/UpdateOudie.exe
2. Connect your Oudie with PC using the USB cable which was supplied in the box
3. Once connected, tap "Connect to PC" or the USB Stick icon on Oudie
4. You should now see Oudie as an external Mass Storage drive on your PC (named
TFAT)
5. Copy UpdateOudie.exe to the root of your Oudie device
6. Reset Oudie or press and hold the On/Off key for 1 second and select "Power
off". Then power it back on by holding the button for another second.
7. Wait until it boots into an Update dialog box
8. Press "Update" and wait until the process is finished
9. Reboot the Oudie one more time, then it is updated.

How to cut and install BNC
Connectors to COAX Cable
BNC Crimp type connectors

Trim cable as shown, being careful not to nick the inner conductor or braid.Slip
crimp sleeve over cable. Place inner conductor into contact.

Note that the end of contact and inner dielectric must be butting and square.
Crimp with appropriate tool.Flair outer braid and gently but firmly push the
contact into the connector housing until a gentle snap is felt, indicating the
contact is in place. Slip the crimp sleeve in place, butting the

flange against the connector body and crimp with appropriate tool.

FAQ
What is QHN or QFE
The altimeter setting in aviation, set either QNH or QFE, is another atmospheric
pressure reduced to sea level, but the method of making this reduction differs
slightly.
QNH
The barometric altimeter setting which will cause the altimeter to read airfield
elevation when on the airfield. In ISA temperature conditions the altimeter will
read altitude above mean sea level in the vicinity of the airfield
QFE
The barometric altimeter setting which will cause an altimeter to read zero when
at the reference datum of a particular airfield (generally a runway threshold).
In ISA temperature conditions the altimeter will read height above the datum in
the vicinity of the airfield.
QFE and QNH are arbitrary Q codes rather than abbreviations, but the mnemonics
"Nautical Height" (for QNH) and "Field Elevation" (for QFE) are often used by
pilots to distinguish them.

How to wiring switching from European connector to USA
Cobra Trailer wheel bearings:
Cobra Trailers built after 1991 have sealed lifetime bearings
and cannot be no should not need greasing, however, Cobra trailers built before
1991 need periodic greasing of the bearings, recommended at about every 6000
miles. Some trailers may also have had the axle replaced by now with newer
sealed bearings.
The easiest way to check this is to remove the grease cap from the axle at the
wheel, check to see if there is a castle nut with cotter pin = this means,
that the bearing are the older types and have to be greased at normal intervals.
If there is a all metal self locking nut then it has the later sealed bearings
and no greasing is needed.
